WRESTLING IS REAL....LIFE IS FAKE

Come in, have a seat and we'll talk about wrestling Stuff

WWE, TNA, ROH, OLD NWA, ANCIENT AUSSIE T.V MATCHES, JAPAN, MEXICO, STAMPEDE, ALL STARS FROM BRITAIN...you name it

so on occasion when my dvd rack needs a top up, I take myself to the gosford loan shop, hock shop, whatever you want to call them, cause for some reason it always has off the wall wrestling to grab and on this trip i found this little gem

THE 2004 SUPER JUNIORS TOURNEY

with dragon, liger, kanemoto, bryan danielson, tiger mask 4 , kakihara, Heat, nakajima and taguchi among others bouncing around the ring and i must say i was most impressed with the matches... lot of brazilian heel hooks and ankle locks as finishers
( blame Angle) BUT kakihara won his matches with a friggin headlock...go figure...still looked like it hurt, he made kanemoto tap...so basically what i was wondering is... does Puroresu do it for you ???

or is WWE and TNA your preferred viewing staple....anyone who knows me sees that i have a liking for lucha as well...probably because i landed in Mexico city the day before
El Santo's funeral....NOW that was a spectacle....made Elvis's gig look sparse mourner wise .

WELL...I know there is a puroresu group on sight but i thought i'd put this in the main discussion just to get a feel for where all our new members heads lay re: "sports entertainment...

I was brought up on "sports entertainment" so I generally don't get into Japanese wrestling, although there are several guys I enjoy watching - Great Muta, Jushin Liger, Tiger Mask (original). I appreciate a good wrestling match as much as the next guy, however seeing it from start to finish gets a tad tiresome for me. I also enjoy seeing the luchas but again, only in small doses.

Some Puro I enjoy but I also tend to think some of the moves done are just ridiculous. Some of the highflying stuff just annoys me. I can deal with it to a point but after awhile I get sick of it. I am also not that big of a fan of some of the piledrivers they do. I guess I just don't see the point in doing some of those crazy moves.

I prefer more of the 70s and 80s NWA and AWA stuff.
